AI has already replaced the skills we're teaching students. The capability a degree certifies now has a half-life measured in years, not decades, and no policy closes that distance fast enough.
We spend our lives trying to become everything we鈥檙e capable of becoming. But the problem with 鈥渇ull potential鈥 is that we鈥檝e already decided what full looks like, and in doing so, we may be creating the very ceiling we鈥檙e trying to break through.
College closures are no longer isolated failures but signs of a deeper enrollment and financial crisis. As student numbers decline, rising costs, debt, and unsustainable operating models are putting more institutions at risk. The bigger challenge may be ahead: colleges must do more to attract, engage, and retain every prospective student.
